Uganda 2026 Day 4

Today I woke up at 2:40a. I wanted to say goodbye to the Ugandan team that was leaving for Naturum. They will drive with all our medical supplies, personal bags, meal supplies, and themselves too. When I walked downstairs, the living room light was still off. I went to sit down and saw Dr Richard sleeping on the couch. Poor guy was to be sleeping at a place nearby, but arrived so late the gate was locked. He said he arrived at 1a or just after. So, he came to the guest house to sleep on the couch for just over an hour. The other guys arrived slow and of course in Uganda time, so they did not leave until about 4:30a. My original plan was to go back to sleep for two hours after they left, but I knew Uganda time was a thing, so I did not have time. Jeremy (one of the people in charge of the guest house) had told a couple of the guys he would take people to a gym nearby if they wanted. I thought it would be fun to join and he said he would just need to know how many people were going for transportation purposes. Until it was time to leave for that, I worked on my message for clinic kids. Benjamin was also working on kids clinic stuff and I mentioned I was going to the gym, but I did not know who else was going. It ended up being Jeremy, Hector, Benjamin, Mark, Connor and I. The gym was nice and also hot, but it felt good to get a workout in. We had 45 minutes we were able to be there before we had to get back to the house for breakfast and morning meeting. Before we left, we took a group photo in the mirror. Also, later in the day I told one of the girls I thought at least one other girl would have gone, but nobody did. That is when I learned it was to he a guy only thing and I invaded. I felt so bad, but none of them said anything to me. I talked to Benjamin about it later and he said he was surprised to hear I was going, but would never tell me I could not go. I told him he should have, but I know all the guys are chill and I am sure they were all fine with it. At breakfast, Hector said he was surprised I did not get proposed to while we were there. I was too, but I am sure it was because of all the guys being there.

Today was more relaxed. We went to quality for general shopping and the coffee shop. Then we came back to the house for lunch. We had to eat fast once it was ready because it was ready late due to a schedule error. This put us behind in arriving to the freedom projectz event. They were already going when we arrived. Papa Moses has Frank as the MC who had each Ugandan stand up, say their name and what they are doing in life. I knew so many of them from over the years, but there were a couple new people I did not know. JoAnne even said a couple were not part of freedom projectz and people may have invited them. After they introduced themselves, our team did too. Then JoAnne had three of our team members speak. That was Benjamin, Connor and Chloe. We tried to be fast because their food was ready and I am sure they were hungry. We did one last thing before they were free to have lunch and that is go to then one by one and pray for them. I enjoyed this part the most. Having the one on one time and hearing what they need prayer for also tells you the most important things on their heart at the time. Once everyone was prayed for, most of them stayed and talked with us, but some went to get food. Of course I took this time to hug all my friends and catch up! It was so good to have time with them again even though I know it was short. Every one of them is so special to me and I can not thank God enough for how he uses us in each others lives. I was also  able to hold baby Samuel! He is Papa Moses son. Him and his wife tried and were prayed over for ten years before God blessed them with Samuel. 

After our time with the freedom projectz group, we went back to the house. A few of them joined us. They are some that we call the world changers. We were able to give them gifts. Every year they are give gifts of practical items because JoAnne is one of the people that takes care of them. We were able to play games together too. Algena found uno and we played the crazy uno version of the game. It was so funny.  There was so much laughter and quiet chuckling. After they left we had dinner and some down time for the rest of the night. I repacked my bag so the items I bought had somewhere to be stored while we were gone. All of us in my room were able to go to sleep earlier this night and it was the most sleep I got the whole trip at 4-4.5 hours.
