Uganda 2023 Day 3

Uganda 2023 Day 3

After a short rest it was time to wake up and get ready for the day. Mama Esther and the ladies did homemade cinnamon rolls along with oatmeal, hard boiled eggs, pineapple, watermelon, and bananas. Then we had our team worship/meeting. From there we split into two groups. About four people went shopping for the medications we buy in country and the rest of us we to exchange money and shop. We exchanged money at quality (a store) and then spent some time shopping before heading to the area of handmade items. We did not have much time there, so I was only able to go in two shops. At least one person got everything planned for people, but maybe we will have a chance to go back or to banana boat before we leave. From here we met the rest of the team for lunch at faze 2. The food here is always so good! I got butter chicken curry with naan with a pineapple mint juice to drink.

On our way home, we saw a bunch of people carrying flags and shouting. Someone asked Ssepuuya if it was a protest, but he said it was a prayer walk. The group was praying for the city. It was pretty cool to see. The next task was to organize supplies from our team bags and then start packaging medications. We took a quick break for a spaghetti dinner with buttered bread and a green bean/carrot mixture. It was a fairly relaxed day.
