Uganda 2025 Day 12
Uganda 2025 Day 12
Today is the last day of clinic in Katwe. We took a group photo in our team shirts before we started anything. I was upstairs in service and prayer again. Before we started, we had group prayer and worship. This is always a beautiful moment and you can always feel the Holy Spirit fill the room. Actually, we do this every morning. As clinic goes on it gets better and better. Today most people shared their testimony and/or a message. I stood next to the sound booth where James and Ethan were. James was eating hard boiled eggs. He kept saying they are sweet and that he eats the shell. I pointed out that he did not eat the shell on the first egg. So, I told him to on the second one. He said, “really”? And I said, “yes, do it.” This happened a couple times before he followed through. Once again he said it is good and sweet. During one of the groups I saw someone come in that I thought o recognized, but I assumed it was from the church. As it turns out it was one of the world changers, Peter. He has his 3 year old son, Aaron, with him to see the doctor. He is a sweet boy who let me hold him without question. It was good to see Peter as it had been some time since I last saw him. Brenda also came today! I thought I would not see her this time, but I did! She helped interpret for us. Brenda and Shakira are two of my little sisters. I love both of them so much! It is so fun during clinic seeing all the world changers there helping interpret and loving people while they do. When service and prayer were over. A couple of us started stacking the chairs. I then asked Patricia if she knew where the brooms were. These are shorter (maybe 2 fr long) bristles that are only plant material tied together at one end. She found three. Took one from her and started sweeping. Ethan also joined us. James came over and was recording me. He made me laugh so hard I almost could not sweep. Ethan asked how they clean up the pile without a dust pan. Patricia then took his broom and the push them together on opposite sides of the pile to pick it up. After a little bit, she asked him if he wanted to try. I was so proud of him for saying yes. It was mostly dirt left so he struggled. When he could end get anymore, he asked how to get it. I said to use his fingers and pick them up. I was mostly joking, but that is what Patricia did to get most of the rest. I was laughing so hard. It is hot in that room and all the sweeping made me hotter. James asked for my fan and then he started fanning Chelsea and I while we were talking. While he was doing that, Nathan came in. He had left and come back with a gift. Nathan said he had been looking at my feet to guess the size and he went and bought two types of sandals for me to try on. I could not believe it! Both fit, but I liked one a little better. He gave the other pair to Sydney because they fit her. He is also an amazing man of God! He has been encouraging to me about different things I have texted him about the last two years. While he was there, I connected my phone to James internet and FaceTimed Ben. Sadly, I did not think about the time difference and it was 5:30 am. He did not answer, but texted and I called again. I could tell Nathan was so happy to see and talk to Ben. After they finished talking, we went downstairs. As I reached the bottom, I looked to my fight where some former freedom projectz students were standing. I was shocked to see Frank had showed up. He had been out of country for some time and had just arrived back. We were making plans to meet at some point while I am with my cousin, so it was good to see him there. While clinic was finishing I took photos with people. Next thing I knew John Basco was walking up. I ran up to him and gave him a hug. After greeting a couple people he went to greet Brenda. She said no and that she was mad at him because he said he would be there around 1p and it was 4p. They are so funny together. They remind me of a couple teens back home, Rosa and Joey. Before we left, everyone circled up and we had prayer. Brenda came back to the house with us because I said I had gifts for her. I bought her a heart necklace with an infinity sign in it. I told her it is because she is my sister and I love her forever. I also gave her nail polish, pop rocks and friendship bracelets I made. John Basco asked what the nail polish was and then asked for his nails to be painted. When Brenda tried to paint his nails he kept trying to keep his hands away. He finally let her paint his pinky finger. I also had her try the pop rocks. She thought they were funny, but taste good. I also let her take all the friendship bracelets because she wanted to give some to people. After dinner I played a game of black 7 and then went to organize my suitcases while packing for safari.
